Bitez is a calm bay on the peninsula's southern shore, just west of Gümbet. It is known for the mandarin orchards behind the beach – the Bodrum mandarin is one of the area's symbols. The bay's steady wind makes Bitez one of the peninsula's recognised windsurfing spots. A seaside promenade, beach clubs and waterfront cafés offer a quieter setting than neighbouring Gümbet, while the village of Bitez further inland keeps its traditional character.
If you are bringing windsurf equipment, a long board bag or similar bulky luggage, please mention it in the booking notes so that enough luggage space can be arranged. Accommodation in Bitez is found both along the shoreline and in the inland village, so entering the full name and address of your hotel or house helps your driver take you to the right door.
