Ortakent is a long-established settlement on the southern coast of the Bodrum peninsula, between Bitez and Turgutreis. The old village inland, with its stone houses and the historic Mustafa Paşa Tower, reflects the peninsula's traditional character and is surrounded by citrus groves. Below it stretches a long, wide sandy beach that merges with Yahşi to form one of the longest beaches on the peninsula. The area has a calmer, more local feel than the busier resorts.
In Ortakent, accommodation is spread between the inland village and the beach area. When booking, please enter the name of your hotel or house together with the neighbourhood or residential complex if possible, so your driver heads to the right part of town. If you have rented a holiday home, adding the full address provided by the owner to the notes is very helpful.
